5 Easy Steps to Enjoying the Calgary Expo 2012

This past weekend was spent driving to and from Calgary for the TNG 25th anniversary reunion Expo.  It was my first time being a part of a Comic-Con and it was a TON of fun!!

Step 1, try on the outfit and practice your best ‘engage’ pose:

(it was at this point I found out that the ‘dress’ I thought Kate’s mom had made me was in fact a top.  PHEW!!)

Step 2, enjoy the journey:

(‘flat happens’ so make sure you’re with someone who will happily teach you how to change a tire)

(Signs will often let you know you’re on the right track)

Step 3, if you buy a toy, play with it:

Step 4, know that ‘the stars’ are people too, respect them and they will respect you – no flash photography and give them space when they need it:

Step 5, realize the amazing caliber of people attending such events and enjoy being surrounded by 60,000 ‘nice/awesome’ people and HAVE FUN:

I really was impressed with how well people dealt with being in close quarters with one another, often having to navigate through weaving lines of mass amounts of human beings, most unsure as to what was going on and yet whenever I was concerned or worried or lost someone was there with a helpful comment or warm smile to guide my way.

Thank you Calgary Expo for making my first experience such a great one!!

What does all of this have to do with acting? (you may ask)
Well, I’ll post the answer to that very very soon 🙂

  1. Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for all the photos – I even recognized a couple of people. I guess that part you got has something to do with this. Hmmm – perhaps you are playing Darth Vader’s love interest in the Harry Potter prequel to Vampire Knight vs Naruto?

    1. It was a lot of fun! I wish my movie role had something to do with these stars – unfortunately this trip was mostly for fun/adventure but I learned a lot along the way 🙂
